Empowering Sales Team’s with Kimberly-Clark’s first Sales App

Pain relief after surgery is an important part of a patient’s recovery process. When a patient’s not in pain, they may be able to move around sooner, have a better appetite and return to normal activities more quickly. To support the healing process after surgery, Kimberly-Clark created the ON-Q pump, a postoperative, non-narcotic pain relief system designed to deliver local anesthetic to or near the surgical site through specially designed catheters – Providing patients days of targeted pain relief after surgery.

Kimberly-Clark’s I-Flow sales team had one goal, to offer a new, safer and more convenient way for patients to manage post-surgical pain. Their sales staff discovered that the best way to introduce the product to physicians was to demonstrate how it worked, absent of an actual patient. Paper presentations were simply not effective. The On-Q sales staff wanted the ability to utilize tablet devices as way to demonstrate via videos and animated graphics how the product worked.

Kimberly-Clark hired our team to design, develop and launch their KC’s first ever B to B application which offered their 100+ sales staff the ability to sell On-Q devices via demonstration from their ipads. In addition, we integrated the application with Drupal, enabling administrators to easily manage all assets and content presented within the application.

In Q1 2013, the ipads were distributed to On-Q sales staff across the US. The response from the staff has been overwhelmingly positive not only for the sales team but for physicians as well.
